Description

Tuff-N-Nuff® RockShield, a robust rockshield solution, is engineered with small diameter (approximately 0.050”) strands of flexible PVC, forming a porous, non-woven mat. These strands are intricately bonded in a controlled, random pattern, ensuring the durability and effectiveness of the Tuff-N-Nuff® RockShield in protecting pipeline coatings. Its primary role is to shield pipeline coatings from direct impacts during backfill operations, and it excels in maintaining long-term protection by preventing hard objects in the backfill from contacting the pipeline coating. Tuff-N-Nuff® RockShield is particularly effective in safeguarding the pipeline coating against abrasive objects during lateral and longitudinal movements after the pipeline is in service.

Tuff-N-Nuff® RockShield is also available with the Rapid-Edge self-fastening hook and loop system, offering a quicker and easier installation experience. Importantly, it does not interfere with the cathodic protection provided to pipelines, especially when installed using Rapid-Edge, monofilament tape, or nonmetallic strapping, as detailed in the Application Instructions.
